We Are Moving Forward to Create Hammerstein Museum!
Thanks to the generosity of many, The Oscar Hammerstein Museum and Theatre Education Center (OHMTEC), a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, has successfully raised funds to purchase Highland Farm, Oscar Hammerstein II's former home and creative epicenter in Doylestown, Pennsylvania! Now, we are poised to execute the next step in our mission to honor Hammerstein's work as a lyricist and librettist, and his legacy of mentorship and humanitarianism.
Our ultimate vision is two-fold:
- Establish a museum at Highland Farm, the home where Hammerstein created some of the most successful musicals ever written;
- Develop a robust theatre education program for all ages that embodies and promotes Oscar's legacy and personal values.
We need to raise an estimated $1.5 million to restore this historic property and create Hammerstein Museum. Will you join us?
Funds raised will be used to restore the historic home; prepare physical infrastructure for public use (parking, landscaping, exterior lighting, etc.); curate, design and install museum displays; and secure staffing.
